I am in the process of writing a 3.5 edition D&D campaign. I know Matt, Tasha, my big dumb cousin and I are going to participate. I urge anyone else that desires to learn the Nerdling Ways (or are dating one of the aforementioned nerds) to either reply here or email me and we’ll figure out when and where to get this thing going.
If you are a new person doing this for the first time: the most important requirements are having an evening to play on and an open mind.
When I say evening, I mean ALL evening. Generally, our D&D campaigns have run from 5pm – 3 am in the past, weekly. There is a (significant) chance that we might have to force the sessions to bimonthly in order to accommodate work schedules. Right now, we do not have a location for this, but this should change if I get employed and can get a house.
Character generation will probably be standard rules and will take up the first week of the campaign. I will also take that week to introduce the setting and give everyone a chance to ask questions about WTF they’re doing. For seasoned vets/nerds, we will be using the new 3.5 edition. I have a set of books, but you might want to get your own Players Handbook from Barnes and Noble or Amazon.
This campaign will not begin until I am gainfully employed, probably several weeks after this, so don’t expect any developments soon. It will also take me this amount of time to write the rest of the campaign. More details to come.
