Due to necessity, I figured out how to correctly re-oil case fans. It turns out there is a sticker on the fan. If you pull up this sticker, you have direct access to the shaft that does all the fan’s spinnning. Sometimes you need to remove a small rubber plug to get to it, but mine was already deplugged.
A few drops of 3 to 1 oil and my machine no longer makes the sound that cats make when they die. For some strange reason, none of my many Computer Science classes covered this. State standardized education, ladies and gentlemen.
