Been a few days…

It’s been a bit since I’ve updated the blog, so here’s what has happened since we last met.

Karate on Thursday was great fun, we did some basics and sparring, I ended up bruising the Hell out of the bottom of my left foot by side kicking Garls-san in the elbow. It doesn’t hurt much, but it looks pretty bad. Fun was had by all.

Friday came and went uneventfully. Tasha and I went to Peoria, I was going to let her buy the dress that she wanted for her birthday, but when we got up there they did not have her size. She told me that she appreciated the thought that I put into the gift, but she would really rather have an Add-A-Link charm bracelet. She’s wanted one of these things for a very long time, and there just so happened to be a vendor there for a show that was selling these things, so that’s what she got for her birthday. She was happy, and I was happy to get her a present that she really wanted.

She also explained to me that this dress was her “unattainable” dress, something that I am told all women have. For some strange reason, they find things they want but have no intention of ever owning. She had mentioned this dress to me several times, so I thought it would make a decent present. I am very glad I executed my plan the way I did or she would’ve ended up with a dress that she wouldn’t ever wear (so she says.)

Women are crazy. 🙂

Saturday was D&D night, which is always a blast. We went to ‘s house, and a good time was had by all. Between Matt’s Horn of Gondor and Tasha’s gastric difficulties, it was a bit hard to concentrate at times but we overcame it. Details about the campaign are here.

Tonight I spent watching the Oscars on TV. I am happy to see that Lord of the Rings: Return of the King took ALL 11 awards that it was nominated for, a clean sweep. I am glad the Academy finally got it right. Because it is Oscar night, I plodded myself with junk food and Crystal Light all night so my abdominal area is a gigantic mess. Hopefully all will clear up soon.

We’re entering the range of weeks where I could potentially hear something from Caterpillar at any time. They should have gotten the results of my Leadership Survey on Friday, and the woman I have been dealing with will get back from vacation next Monday. If she has deferred the hiring decisions to someone else, I may hear something this week. Either way, hiring could be imminent. So those of you so inclined, please cross your fingers on my behalf because it’s Ramen and the Cardboard Box under the Bridge if I don’t get a job soon.
