Today marks my first Friday on the job. I am surprised at how non-stressful it is right now. I anticipated a off the bat volley of proving myself, but I have found that my credentials and attitude has proceeded me somewhat here.
People seem to take it for granted that I will brush back up on Java quickly and be able to handle the architecture. I like that. Today it’s more documentation review.
For the record, I did stop at the red light at that corner today. I realize now why I never noticed the sign. I stopped at the stop line, and my rear view mirror blocked the sign PERFECTLY, and it was mostly in my blind spot the rest of the time.
After I get off work tonight it is the rehearsal dinner, and then back to moving more stuff. Since I had moved my bed yesterday (read the following post), I got to sleep in my Dad’s Big Awesome Chair. That was pretty good. I might have to get one of those later.
Saturday, before the wedding, Justin, my cousin John, and I are going up to a guitar store to try to cash in on a huge sale they’re having. The deal is you buy one guitar at retail price, and they give you another one for a penny. John has helped us select two beauties and Justin and I are going to split the retail cost and basically get two sweet guitars for half price each.
From there, it will be off to finally get this gigantic event over with so I can move blissfully on with the rest of my days.
