Last night Tasha and I had the good fortune to spend our first night of basically lounging around our new house. We decided to play the Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit game that we had been given, and this further cemented the notion that we collectively know WAY too much about these films. I won the first game in about twenty minutes, and she won the second in about the same amount of time.
The only real work that we did around the house last night was getting my computers retrieved from my parents house and set up. That reminded me to pay my Dell bill last night, so I decided to try to call to see if they are able to take a debit card payoff this morning. After getting transferred three times, I finally got an Indian guy that wanted to help me make a payment over the phone. The whole impetus for doing this payoff was the fact that I can’t find the checkbook and I have enough cash in my checking account to pay for the rest of my balance.
The guy asked for my check information to which I explained that I didn’t have my checkbook here, as I was at work. After hearing him pause, and then begin “Well, we need a check to process this over the phone…” I say, “OK, bye” and hang up. I think I heard some war noises coming from the phone as I was hanging it up, but I was done dealing with his incompitence.
I have to make some sort of decision how I am going to handle this, as the payment is due in three days. I will make an attempt to find my checkbook when i get home from work tonight, and if that doesn’t work I will get a money order for the payoff balance.
I eagerly anticipate the installation of our cable internet access on Friday. It will be nice to be able to update the blog again from home.
