I got a call last night from my mom, they wanted to take us out to Jim’s Steakhouse for dinner last night since they had a gift certificate to get rid of. Oh man, that food was sooooooo good. I had a rib-eye… the only problem with it was that I could’ve eaten one twice that size and been perfectly happy.
The atmosphere of that place is interesting… they had a harpist and very dim lights like high end restaurants, but they still had autographed photos of people that had eaten there. For some reason that reminded me of a cheaper restaurant trying to look sophisticated.
It didn’t help that they had one picture frame that had mostly broken glass in it. Turns out that was Aerosmith’s signed picture. It must not be acceptable to eat in a place like that and retain your hard rock image unless you break things. While I thought about that, I was reminded of my cousin John’s mentality.
But anyway, the food was excellent. Tasha had the salmon, something that she loves and doesn’t get very often. Ains and Justin were there, and they also enjoyed their food greatly. During the meal, I found out that Justin LOVES Family Guy almost as much as I do. After we got back home, I drug him over to our house to see the Stewie clip from the MTV Music Awards last year as well as William Shatner’s Rocketman adaptation he did back in the 70’s, which is also spoofed on Family Guy.
It was a good night, to say the least.
