This weekend has been a constant battle of packing, organizing, and getting ready to move to our new house. I have always hated the process of packing and moving since I had to do it so much during my college years, however this time it’s a little more tolerable because unless the place blows down I’m not going to do this again for about 1d20 years.
Last night we were able to get most of the kitchen packed, which will arguably be the hard part. We’ve got the bedroom left, which involves simply packing up our clothes and the bedside stuff. This shouldn’t take too much effort. I’m actually very pleased with the progress that we’ve been making, as well as the fact that we haven’t just been chucking stuff into boxes, we’ve taken the time to organize and label the boxes so we know where they go/what’s in them.
This afternoon we get to make our last walk-through of the house, and I’m going to make it a point to check those water spots in the basement since we’ve had so much rain. I don’t know what can be done at this late stage, but it will help settle my conscience either way. I will update here once I find out what it’s like, since I know there have been several of you that have at very least listened to me worry about this for the last week and would like some closure.
