This weekend was a pretty average one… we spent Friday night with
On Saturday we spent the morning shopping for presents for a wedding. We also got some Christmas shopping done and I got some new pants which I sorely needed. We had to go to a wedding for a second cousin of mine, it was a nice day with good food. It was in a Methodist church, which interested me because they had a stained glass window of a guy named Charles Wesley, who (as far as I know) isn’t Jesus. I found it interesting because this puts him on the same level as the Jesus getting crucified stained glass window, and the Paul starting his mission stained glass window. I’ve never even heard of this guy, which leads me to wonder where my stained glass window is.
Anyway, all strange religious observances aside, the wedding was nice and the reception was good. We decided to stay for dinner which took precisely seventeen hours to get there. We ate buffet style roast beef and mini chicken cordon bleu and then left, on the way out we got thanked by a mildly intoxicated bride.
We drove back and enjoyed a night of giving presents, Monopoly, and the Game of Life with the Dukeses. Much fun was had by all.
Sunday was spent doing some minor running around. Later, Tasha’s brother came over to open his birthday present and trade some jokes, and this was followed up by dinner (chicken and rice, oh yeah!) with the Dukeses. We felt bad because we were not prepared for enough dinner for Tasha’s brother and his girlfriend, but they didn’t seem too upset about it. After Matt and Sarah left, we ended up hanging out and doing nothing important for the rest of the night.
