I was really considering taking last night off, since my energy levels were at a week-long low. Work was a bit of a bear yesterday, and by the time to get ready for Karate rolled around, I mostly just wanted to sit on my can.
As usual, when I drag myself up off of the couch my workouts are pretty good. We spent last night doing basics in ridiculously low stances, which felt good, and then we did the first three katas. By this time I’m sure Tasha was about dead, but for some reason she stuck it out and continued to train into the second class. She got her first dose of an all-sparring second class and she did pretty well with it.

By the time things got done I had figured out how to brace myself in such a way to take a shot like that, however with my build I found that my instincts to move backwards and out of the way were really hard to fight when you knew something like that was coming. I got a lot out of those drills, but I could tell by the time we were done visiting at Steak and Shake afterwards athat my arms and legs would hurt today. I have a goose egg on my left arm and several bumps and bruises and I really feel as if my body’s falling apart.
