Last night’s workout marked the triumphant return of
In between classes, I elected (stupidly) to spar with
Surprisingly, my toe does not hurt at all. As a matter of fact in some ways it feels better than it did shortly after I hurt it in January.
Regardless, the second class came a little too quickly for my tastes. I could’ve sparred like that for the rest of the night, however Sensei Brewer had a more fundamental concept at hand. We did several sparring combinations that I really felt like I was flailing through followed by no fewer than six full speed Bassai Dai kata. About halfway through the sparring combinations I started to see small motes of yellow light so I figured it was time to hydrate a little. I got some water and they went away, so I was able to jump back in line just in time for the Great Kata Sodomy that was to come.
This morning, I’m sore in so many places that I’d rather just not even think about it. My butt, thighs, sides of my body, and hips are all doing strange things on their own accord. My cold is continuing to progress negatively, I intend to work out hard tonight in front of Sensei Brewer and if I continue to feel poorly on Thursday I may opt out of that workout to give me a few days to recover.
I still intend to get Saturday’s workout in, but I feel like I need to play this smart instead of gutsy at this juncture.
