Last night’s class consisted largely of partner training and sparring drills. The first class was a study on side snap kick, followed by some partner drills during which the black belts got to help correct.
The second class started out with some basics, which lead into a drill where we moved at our partner with two reverse punches and tried to avoid their guard. Of course, I got across from Mike-san which meant I was in for a beating.
We were told to get a drink of water and then come back for 3-5. I ended up on the side of things that made me face the following opponents: Mike-san, Sensei Brewer,
I got to spar with my Dad as I mentioned before, and it was a good time. He’s working past staying back on his back leg, I had a feeling Sensei gave him some coaching after class because they stayed inside and talked for quite a bit.
After things broke up for the night Kate-san, one of our resident college-aged yellow belts decided to join
It was a good workout last night. Lots of sparring, no injuries, and good food afterward.
