I got some time this weekend to install my new Klipsch Pro Media Ultra 5.1 speakers. They were adequately equipped with enough cabling to allow me to get the wires out of the way. The speakers themselves are hefty, and the subwoofer came complete with a “don’t throw out your back” warning due to its weight.
Since I am currently running a Sound Blaster Live! card I only had a plugin for the fronts, however I can tell that these things are going to trump any sound experience I have ever had in the past. The fronts alone are amazing, allowing just enough bass to make it sound like Bart Simpson is actually running down my staircase and the cars on the commercials are on my street.
I took this opportunity to order a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card which has hookups for the center channel, rears, and subwoofer. It should be here sometime this week and be imparting its DTS/Dolby and THX certification to my homestead by the weekend. I’m going to hold it off as a post code migration celebration.
I must send a hearty THANK YOU out to
