This weekend marks the eye of the storm. This past week I was set scrambling to make plans for finishing up the software that I’ve been developing so hard over the last few months. Its been a journey, but we’re almost there. Unfortunately, the holiday and circumstances being what they are I will be forced to work two insanely long days on Tuesday and Wednesday in order to make sure this thing is tested enough not to make the house fall down.
This has caused a good deal of stress over the last week, so much that I designated this weekend as “Recharge the Batteries Weekend.” I fully intended for this to comprise karate on Saturday, D&D on Saturday night, and rest and relaxation for the rest of the weekend. As referenced by
We had D&D per the regular schedule, and spent some time today at my parents house. I did take a few lazy hours this afternoon to code up a monitoring script for my new software, but this was more for nerdly recreation than it was work anyway. It just had the added benefit of checking off one checkbox in our plan for the coming week.
We spent a little time today over at my parents house, where we were treated to a spaghetti dinner and some TV. Tomorrow is looking pretty clear for a little makiwara training with Dad, maybe some poolside time at my aunts, and some time spent with the wife. This should allow me enough reserve energy to face the impending back to back 14 hour days that I’m staring down for Tuesday and Wednesday. On the other side of that we should be ready and raring to go with this software so my life can start returning to normal.
