A discussion on proper definitions…

Today at work we were all goofing around before it was time to go home. I stopped by ‘s desk and we were discussing the fact that so many of us had weddings to attend these days. I jokingly remarked “yeah, my friends just have to stop hooking up so often.”

She gave me The Look, and I was confused. She apparently thinks that the term “hook up” does not apply to getting married.

I have the opposite opinion that marriage == hooking up permanently.
