Well, with a draught of good movies to see this week Tasha and I decided to take in a late showing of Wedding Crashers. She likes Owen Wilson pretty well and I was in the mood for a good comedy, and this movie delivered pretty well.
I have to say that Tasha and I have seen a lot of romantic comedies in our day, however this was the first one that started off with a montage of boobs. Keeping this fact in mind, the plot moves on and we get introduced to Secretary of the Treasury Christopher Walken and his crazy family. I always get that momentary internal scream whenever I see Christopher Walken, but this time he only played ominous and creepy for about five minutes this time.
They propped up the middle of the movie with some really strange situations, a foul mouthed grandma, and a somewhat painful attempt at drama between Owen Wilson and whatever hot girl it was that he was after and they were able to pull off a passable hour and a half.
Vince Vaughn was a real surprise in this movie… I never really pictured him as a funny guy, but there are several spots that he really came through with the ha-has.
In the end the whole thing wrapped up like most romantic comedies do and it will likely find its way to the DVD shelf. I don’t really think this is one of those that we’ll go to see in the theatres again, but it was a good time.
