Tonight I spent an hour oscillating between Symantec Support Pages and restarts trying to get my recently purchased Norton Antivirus update to actually take. Thanks to a very helpful person whose name can only be accurately pronounced in his native Klingon tongue, my subscription record in their databases got updated appropriately to reflect my purchase.
Making my local copy of their app understand this fact was a completely different feat.
Five restarts and two or three helper app installations made the thing work again, its showing both my subscription and all of the appropriate updates as it should. They should really make this process less of a pain in the ass. 😛
