This weekend we finished up our Christmas shopping. After a nice lunch at Cheddars with
Brian (
We were also looking to get an HDMI cable of at least fifteen feet, however the Best Buy associate was quick to point out “the length is going to be the problem, dawg.” He was able to find me a 12’ HDMI cable and a DVI adapter from a company called Audio Research. The shielding on the cable appeared comparable to Monster, so we elected to pick it up as well. If it doesn’t work out we can take it back within 30 days of Christmas, so I’m not too concerned.
I did find out that my old GeForce2 Ultra actually has a DVI output, which is really good news. When I rebuild the MythTV after Christmas, I’m going to slap that puppy in there and see if I can get high-def output going from my MythTV. That will be ultra sweet if I’m able to pull it off.
The grand total of this bonanza of cables was more than I care to recount. I should now be prepared for the coming of the TV. Brian has graciously offered to provide his professional opinion on how to do all of this so I can make the assmonkeys from Shermans do the right thing. The last thing I need to figure out is where to get mounting brackets for my Klipsch speakers.
