The cable is the hardest part…

Last night and her boyfriend Brian came over to help assess the situation for cabling my TV/MythTV/speakers setup. Turns out the prognosis was not as good as we would’ve hoped. It appears that my rafters run the wrong way in my basement, so I’m forced to run my speaker wires under the carpet upstairs.

This is going to wait until next week at the very earliest. My attention now turns to what the Sherman’s guys will do. Brian is pretty confident that they will have to cut an access in my basement ceiling to be able to run the cabling properly for my TV. He said the other option is they just leave the cord hanging, at what point I will demand my installation fee back.

Unfortunately, I will have to come up with a good way to conceal this access so my basement doesn’t look retarded after they are done. I’m not too worried about this, I’d rather have the TV setup looking nice upstairs. We’ll see what they come up with.

It was nice to be able to spend some time with Andrea and Brian… I think we should try to do that more regardless of the entertainment center situation.
