For each they had provided a hood and cloak, made according to his size, of the light but warm silken stuff that the Galadrim wove. It was hard to say of what colour they were: grey with the hue of twilight under the trees they seemed to be; and yet if they were moved, or set in another light they were green as shadowed leaves, or brown as the fallow fields by night, dusk-silver as the water under the stars. Each cloak was fastened about the neck with a brooch like green leaf veined with silver.
The fine folks at Stansborough Fibres were kind enough to provide me a nearly one foot by one foot square of the fabric they used to create the Lorien cloaks for The Lord of the Rings. I took a few quick shots of it alongside my leaf brooch tonight, this fabric is very difficult to photograph and color correct to the tones look as they do in real life. As you can see, I did a real amateur job in making my two pictures match, but you’re all going to have to live with it for now.
Enjoy!
