Happy Belated Birthday, <lj user=”shotobushi”>!

Tonight marked the surprise party for our very own . We were all gathered at his house and got a pretty good surprise out of him. The whole team was there, minus Sensei Brewer who was away in Chicago. It was a really great time, we did a lot of catching up, watching karate videos, talking shop, and sake.

It was good to see some of those long lost karate souls again. Catching up was very fun, as was comparing notes from times past. We got an annotated tour of Sensei Hartman’s archives, which was mighty impressive. It has changed from the two shelves that it used to be, now its five plus.

Hopefully we helped Sensei Hartman celebrate his big four oh. Here’s to another 40!
