My Dad and I did get some time to work on the table today and we made some decent progress. We cut the stretcher board and the notches in the legs for the stretcher board to go into. We also glued and clamped the leg-halves together. One of the legs has a little bit of a bow to it which may pose a bit of a problem, however for this table the aesthetic goal is “rustic, yet quality” and I think that minor little things like that add character. 🙂
I got to use my new Black and Decker jigsaw that came in the four pack of tools that I got for Christmas, as well as my new Shop Vac. Both perform their tasks quite well.
What’s left: cut the cleats for the legs and bottom of the table, assembly, sanding, and finishing.
