Well, Monday night was an astonishing trek into insanity. My cousins came over and we had a little impromptu party for no reason, and it involved ingesting just a tad too much libation.
I woke up on Tuesday morning completely with it, but I noticed that I had developed a sour stomach. This had been stewing all weekend, but it made my day on Tuesday very uncomfortable. So uncomfortable, in fact, that I was only able to muster half of one of my favorite meals: Avanti’s Italian Beef.
I was feeling somewhat better by the end of business on Tuesday, but I decided to take the path of discretion and stay home from karate. The last thing I wanted was to core dump in the middle of a Sochin kata.
Instead, I responded to a support call from my Mom. Her floppy drive had blown out and was making a horrible electrical buzzing sound and her CD-RW drive wouldn’t recognize blank media. A quick call to Dell and they sent new parts out. They should arrive on Thursday. This has lead me to believe that Dell has a certain breaking point after which they don’t hassle you about returns. Mom’s machine is on year 3 of a 4 year warranty, and they didn’t bat an eye about replacing those components. Too bad mine’s out of warranty.
I did some additional CSS work on my site redesign… its coming along nicely, I’m getting ready to stitch some of those improvements into the actual design soon. I’ve taken an approach of pure CSS whereever possible (I’m basically grabbing tutorial code and hacking it together for my purposes) and PHP to augment some of the functionality I wanted.
