Tonight it was just us Nidans. After some deliberation, we decided to split into groups and focus on one advanced stance apiece.
I think everyone got a good class, I know I was sweating by the end. We took the key elements of Sochin-dachi (keeping ones center tense, back straight, and outward pressure) and ran everyone through their paces for fifteen minutes apiece. I think we broke things down enough that everyone got something out of our part. I think we even learned a thing or two about how to appropriately move in Sochin-dachi. Good times.
I was only able to pull off five Sochin before class, so I spent most of the second class doing ten more. Then we sparred for a brief time, but I took a little of that time helping
I think we did a fair job of holding down the fort tonight. It was good to really focus on stance, and I think everyone got a rounded workout during the second class.
