Tonight’s workout started late for me… I was only able to get three Sochin in before class. Since we were on the stage tonight it was somewhat close quarters, so I spent the first class helping correct the few people that were there tonight.
This left me eager for a good second class… we did some sparring combinations to get warmed up, followed by half a dozen Tekki kata. Then I got to be point man for a few Sochin kata, three to be exact. They were a TOUGH three kata… I got some pointers on my stance and I felt pretty good for the few that I got to do.
After that, the fun began. Sensei Brewer and I did one time attack, first with lunge punch, then with reverse punch, and then with whatever we wanted. I got a pretty decent set of smackdown last night, a few of the most noteable were solid Sensei-Powered strikes to the back, kidney, and in the dome. 🙂 I got only a couple noteworthy shots in myself, but they were quickly answered with the usual awesome volley one has come to expect from Sensei.
It was very high-octane and fun… I’ve not had that much fun sparring in a long, long time. I don’t usually get the good fortune to mix it up with Sensei Brewer, its always great fun when I do.
I want to reflect on this some more, however my cousin just showed up so I’m going to hang out with him for a bit. More later!
