Tonight we had a pretty good storm. It knocked my broadband and part of my cable service out for the better part of an hour and a half tonight, complete with some pretty good sized hail. It was enough to leave dings in the cheap tin roof of my screened-in porch.
Before the hail hit, I heard reports of golf ball sized hail around Glasford so I headed upstairs and got my lovely wife out of bed. For those of you that know me, you know that I don’t take shelter from storms most times. But when they’re calling for big hail and high winds and the big red spot on the radar is heading right for Pekin, I want to make sure either of the large trees in my yard don’t end up squashing my wife.
We got to listen to the intense hail and wind for about a half hour, then it pretty much receded from our immediate area. Tasha returned to bed shortly thereafter and the network and cable were restored to service.
So it was a little exciting, but not exciting enough to drive us to the basement. There has been a lot of severe storms in the area this past month. Must be the nachos.
