I finally got around to hooking up my printer tonight. It is moments like this that remind me that I’ve been living in a hardware Stone Age for quite awhile now, which is really a travisty given my love for the cutting edge of software.
Ever since I got my laptop,
The whole experience of the last month or so of shopping for and securing newer hardware to operate on has shown me that it is OK to spend a little bit of money to have nice things that enable getting work done. Its even nice to buff them up just enough to be able to play some of the latest games.
I think that as time goes on I will learn from this and not let five years pass between systems. I will also learn from lessons learned in college… I watched a friend of mine literally spend himself out of school having the latest and greatest gaming rig on the floor/building/campus. Striking a balance between cutting edge power and sensible spending will be important in this endeavor.
