I got only five Sochin in tonight before class. I was mostly suffering from a lack of motivation and sleep, but that shortly abated once the first class started. Tonight was circuit training, we did a lot of drills using the green rubber band things to work on pullback. I broke one during the first station. They don’t make things like they used to. 🙂
The other stations worked on kicking in similar fashion. Dad was in my group, and we had some fun during the last station where we had to kick over a pile of step aerobics steps and make some contact.
The second class was awesome. We got to do some three to five time attack and we rotated partners so we got a lot of opportunity to spar with everyone. McCabe-san and I had a great time trading good shots, so many iuchis (attacks landing at the same time).

It is always neat when you hit that moment of sparring when things start happening in slow motion. I had a few Matrix style “bullet time” moments during Sensei Brewer and my sparring session. My knee held up remarkably well during the proceedings, so I’m going to move back to my “at least 15 kata per workout” goal on Saturday and see how things hold together. It was a great workout tonight and I’m beat! More later!
