The hardest part…

Several options have materialized around getting the new (used) pool table moved from its current location to my basement. The first two options were people that were listed and pool table and billiards resources in the yellow pages. The first guy sounded kind’ve disreputable and wanted around $375 to move the thing. The second guy called me back on Friday and could do it for $325 (he seemed much less disreputable).

The third option was the company that moved and resurfaced my aunt and uncle’s table. They wanted $440 to move it and another $260 to resurface it. No thanks, that’s way too much for a $150 table.

The final option was a friend of our good pal , who runs a general moving company that contracts out to a few local businesses. They are sending some people to the location to see if they can move it, and said they had done a few pool tables in the past but none quite that size so they wanted to check it out first before giving me a quote. I neglected to ask whether they intend to disassemble/reassemble the thing to move it, but I can ask that when they call to schedule the appointment on Tues or Wed. He said if for some reason they couldn’t move it that he would recommend someone to me that could, which I thought was a nice offer.

Hopefully, all of this means I will get my table moved either this week or next. Its a little overwhelming trying to coordinate everything, but I’m sure we’ll get past it.
