I got my stitches removed tonight, the doctor says that my finger is healing very well. He says the redness and soreness is relatively normal for a cut that deep, however as a safeguard he put “steri-stitches” over the affected area. They’re kind’ve like butterfly stitches, only they’re adhered right to the wound with this stingy antiseptic adhesive. I’m supposed to be very careful about closing my hand into a fist for the next week or so, he says that where that wound was “it will come apart if you push it too far without the stitches in.”
I don’t know how I’m going to settle this against the stuff we’ll be doing in karate over the next week (especially Saturday), but I’m going to do my best. It already feels better to not have the stitches in there, hopefully it’ll be back to normal soon.
