Even though it has not been hindering my training at all, I’m fairly certain that I did more damage than previously assumed during the incident that occurred involving my left foot and Mr. Erbe’s right knee. At the time, as indicated in the associated post, I assumed my foot would be bruised for only a few days.
Tomorrow will be 20 days and I still have persistent pain in the ball of my foot, even though the bruise has healed. It seems to be centered under my second toe (next to the big toe) but below where the toe bends. I notice it most when I’m walking on bare floors without shoes on, but when I wear shoes it is fine. Part of me wonders if something in there was/is fractured or broken, but the rest of me doesn’t really care to waste the time and money it would take at the doctors to find out. Eventually the nerves will die and I won’t notice it anymore.
In other news, it is amazing how much of a difference three days of antibiotics can make! I’m feeling MUCH better from my sinus infection, I suspect no difficulty in training this week. I needed a bit of a rest, I was really burning the candle at both ends for awhile there.
