I woke up this morning around 10:15 due to a phone call from my wonderful wife inviting me to lunch at Cinco de Mayo, her favorite Mexican restaurant. I wasn’t sure if I could make it or not because of the volume of work that I had to do today, but I committed to calling her back in a half hour with a verdict.
I went outside and put the second (and final) coat of paint on the back door trim. I grabbed a shower after alerting my wife that I would make it for lunch, and I was off. Lunch was good and while I was in the vicinity I stopped off to get my back adjusted. I made my way home to begin the worst task on my list of to-dos: raking.
It took me 2.5 hours, but I got the front yard completely raked and bagged up. I also borrowed my neighbor’s hedge trimmer and tended to my bushes for the first time in probably 20 years. For having never done this myself, I think it ended up pretty well. It’s certainly less scraggly than it was before.
After that, it was decontaminating the bathrooms. Tasha had committed to painting our downstairs bathroom if I scrubbed the walls down, so I did that and then ventured upstairs to work on the two upstairs bathrooms. I got one done, then I started my pumpkin pies for tomorrow. They are now in the oven and I decided to allow myself a 15 minute break before going upstairs to tackle the guest bathroom.
That will leave the rabbit room, the living room, the kitchen, and the basement to get done by 10 am Friday. This had better be worth it!
I will be thankful for a break tomorrow and a successful appraisal on Friday.
