I’ve been in a bit of a blogging lull lately, so I present this roundup of the past several days.
The beginning of the year has been pretty hectic for me… work has ramped up a little, causing me to miss karate a couple of times this week. I’ve been suffering from a bit of insomnia lately, which has led to late nights and a deficit of sleep.
This weekend, I intentionally took a workout off so I could catch up on the aforementioned lack of z’s. Then it was out to Bartonville to visit my former team lead for lunch, we were treated to an excellent time with his family and some very excellent tacos. He has a very cute black lab dog named Boomer, Tasha had him charmed in about 5 minutes. He was sad to see us go, we were sure.
Saturday night was the begin of our new D&D campaign. This time we decided to do something a little different: I am co-DMing with a friend of mine that has been a regular in our group for a few years now. He is writing the plot and I am running the sessions. The first game was a rousing success, it started with vigor that reminds me of the best campaign that I have run to date. That means that we have a real opportunity to outshine our own best work if we keep it up.
Finally I was able to catch up my sleep for reals. Tasha and I both slept in to a goodly hour. We lounged around the house and then went shopping in Peoria. Then it was dinner at my parents house and that’s about it. I did complete a little more work on the dent in my couch, it was much needed.
We did end up procuring a new faucet for our kitchen sink, so I’m sure there will be a few new entries for my “joys of home ownership” tag pretty soon.
