This morning’s workout was great! We arrived as the rest of the group was finishing their warmup of sparring combinations, then we went right into The Good Stuff… three time attack with strong hard blocking, one time attack (still with hard blocks) with counterattacks, and finally one time attack where the attacker could block the counter and counterattack themselves.
At one point,
I don’t even think my eye is going to bruise, it was a little red for awhile but it appears to be just fine at the moment. It was a good punch, its path was traveling slightly upward when it landed which probably just jarred the ol’ brainpan. Good times.
The rest of the sparring went pretty well, I landed some good shots and my timing was relatively on. We rounded out the workout with strengthening, I did 50 upper body (arms/chest) strengthening exercises and 100 stomach/core strengthening exercises. This may end up being the measure for the year, we’ll see.
