The Wedding Reception of <lj user=”shototiger”>…

Wow, what a great time. and were there representing our respective families when we arrived, and the happy couple was opening their gifts. After some food, the music kicked up and we were made to do the hokey pokey, after successfully avoiding the much hated Chicken Dance.

Then came the dollar dance, and since I was the only person in the karate group that had a dollar I elected to have a dance with , which ended quickly with a dip. He was embarrassed, and I’d love to know why I am always nominated to perform this embarrassing, yet hilarious act for most weddings.

That ended quickly enough, and brought out a little surprise for us karate guys: two bottles of sake. After as hard of a workout as we had today, it was time to cut loose, and loose we did cut. After much of the sake was complete and most of us did battle with the keg, all of the karateka on hand decided to to a “butt-kata” version of Bassai Dai in the middle of the dance floor, reminiscent of a famous moment in a similar situation by Sensei Evans.

By the end of the night, many good stories had been told and much celebration was had. It was really very awesome to see and his wife at this stage in their life, healthy and happy. I know they’re going to do just great together, and both and I were happy to get the chance to celebrate with them.
