Last night’s workout began early for
Sensei Brewer arrived in time to kick up the first class, we did a TON of basics, which built into some five time attack. It was a slow, yet steady progression and there wasn’t a great deal of standing around relaxing to be had. Needless to say, I drank a ton of water in between classes.
The second class went much to the same formula, however this time we built into sparring combinations up and down the floor. We did not actually get to sparring drills, but I could tell if we had another hour we would’ve been sparring. A lot. I woke up this morning sore in all the right places, which indicates that I did in fact do karate things last night.
I really need more basic practices like this, I can tell my technique just STINKS right now and needs that extra focus on bolting together the good parts and polishing it all up. Hopefully, more to come after the holidays.
