Tonight we did more work on our stance, stability, and gyaku kihon. The basic workout emphasized using the shoulders against the action of the hips to make a “wrung out towel” feeling in the center of the body.
We then got an opportunity to exercise this feeling in the second class, where we did reverse punch drills with different partners. I think I’m starting to pick up on this a little because I’m having a lot more success in reaching my partner and getting in with the second punch.
We finished out the night with some kibadachi and front stance training just as we have been on Saturday mornings. In all, it was a great workout and I look forward to some more on Saturday!
