Tonight’s workout consisted of a boatload of basics, which is what I really needed. I was feeling good during the first class, we worked primarily on lunge punch and front kick. For some reason my body dynamics in front kick have been feeling pretty good, so I’m not going to fight that too much.
The second class saw the return of Sensei Brewer (he stopped in to watch for awhile, looking good on his new hip!) and we worked on some sparring combinations which focused on lunge punch and jab. Sensei Quinn was wanting us to work on some strange hip rotation and it was a struggle for me, but I did end up with a few decent techniques to hang my hat on tonight. With workouts that contain that volume of new concepts I’ll take what I can get and be happy about it!
