Despite assertions to the contrary, I have been working out. I caught the Saturday and Thursday workouts last week, which focused primarily on basics and advanced sparring concepts. The advanced class on the Thursday workout focused on distance and kicking, that seemed to come out pretty well for me.
I had some trouble extending my roundhouse kicks properly, but my front kicks were coming along nicely. It felt good to work out hard like that, unfortunately the Mapleton dojo was closed this weekend so I didn’t get my second workout in.
Probably a symptom of the lack of training, but my energy levels have been all over the place the last month or so. The front half of last week was wasted for me because I couldn’t help but take naps that turned from an hour into 3-4 hours. I’m going to make an effort to get in the dojo more consistently over the coming weeks, but work has been truly crazy lately and I don’t see it getting any better soon.
