Today our new carpet got installed, my basement has now been neutered to a semi-interesting beige and brown berber from its awesome 1970’s lava carpet. Honestly, it is more than a little depressing.
The guys got done a bit after noon, by that time I was embroiled in the required online learning portion of my CPR training. By the time that finished, it was 2 o’clock or so, and I was well past the point of going into the office today. Working from home rules!
Toward the end of the day, I made a quick run to the pet store to grab some timothy hay for The Cheat, who has been a bit listless lately and doing that growling stomach thing. I attribute this partially to the giant glob of poo that we removed from his hindquarters two days ago, he headed right over to the timothy hay and started chowing down so he must not be that bad off. Neither he nor his partner in crime Joe have figured out the multiple tiers of their new home. I also stopped by Menards and got some new CFL floodlights to illuminate my newly brightened basement.
Then it was off to the chiropractor to realign my neck, which has been inexplicably screwed up since Saturday. I knew from the stiffness that the adjustment was going to suck, and it was the first time since I started getting treatments that the adjustment actually hurt. The doctor said there was definitely some swelling between my vertebrae (likely from the snap of my head) and that it should feel better in a few days. We’ll see!
Then it was back home, where a truckload of stuff to Goodwill and a night of cleaning has almost reclaimed our living room. A bit of good news: two of my bhut jolokia pepper plants have finally sprouted! Only time will tell if they bear terrible, terrible fruit!
That’s all for this patchwork blog post!
