Tonight Sensei Yaguchi had us doing partner drills. The attacking side would do a lunge punch moving forward, the defender would do the first move from Empi and strike the front leg. Then the attacker would do a rear leg front kick, and the defender would spin out with the back leg and do a low level inward forearm block. Then as a counter-attack the defender would slide into kibadachi with an elbow strike.
We did this so long that my legs were begging for mercy by the end. Then we moved on to kata, doing Gojushiho Sho. I haven’t done that kata a great deal, but I enjoy the body action in it. My legs were so tired after class was over, but ibuprofen cures all!
