This morning I ventured out into the great white vastness that is Colorado after a giant snowstorm. My road was in pretty good shape, but I hit a bad patch of ice right by an intersection (right as I applied my brakes) and it quickly put me right into the curb. I hit it at an angle that put my front tires entirely on a patch of ice, so gun it as I might I couldn’t get my car back straightened out. I even tried putting it in neutral and pushing the front of the car and I couldn’t move it enough to get going.
Thankfully, a guy pulled up behind me to help me push it and get it straightened out… he pushed while I gunned it in reverse, and after a few minutes I got on my way agian. The main roads were in pretty good shape and I made it to work without further incidents. It got up to nearly 50 degrees today, so by the time I got home from work the roads were clear and dry. That’s right… not even a full day after 17-20″ of snow fell, the roads were CLEAR AND DRY. Amazing.
Unfortunately, we were supposed to see Train in concert tonight and the mountain passes are still closed so the band was unable to travel here from Salt Lake City. They rescheduled the concert for December 8th, so we’ll get to see them then. That’s all for now, Happy Friday everyone!
