As previously mentioned, today is the 13th anniversary of getting my Shodan. For this reason, I opted for a karate workout with my buddy Paul. We started off with warmups, then I took him through the body tension and connection drills that we did at the Arvada dojo on Tuesday. Then we did some basic combinations and some partner drills. After that I opted to take a trip down memory lane and do some Shodan test combinations, followed by each of the following katas twice: all of the Heian katas, Tekki Shodan, and Bassai Dai. We did them at a slower pace so Paul could keep up, and he did a great job.
