Hobbytown USA…

My buddy Doug got me a gift card to Hobbytown USA for my birthday.  He has been building a rock-crawler, which is a remote controlled ATV that is built for simulated off-roading on a rocky terrain course.  Being familiar with this store, he thought there would be something there that I would like.

Boy, was he right.

This is like a toy store for grown-up guys.  They’ve got a big billiards section, darts, model airplanes, trains, cars, etc.  The part I was most excited about was their model-building section because they had the same Tamiya models that are used in my Star Wars replica movie props.  I don’t know if they had the specific models that I have for my projects (it’s been too long for me to remember specifically)  but I was excited to see them.

I did a lot of browsing today but no buying, because after seeing what they had I needed to consult my projects to see what parts I needed to finish the kits.  This could be a massive rekindling of my prop hobby, which is dangerous to both my bank account and my free time.  We shall see!

Also, thanks Doug for the gift card.  That place RULES!
