Tasha and I decided to get up early this morning and brave the Black Friday crowds at Target. When we arrived at 4 am, the line was predictably wrapped around the side of the building. There wasn’t much parking, so Tasha dropped me off alongside the building and went in search of parking. Then the line started to move. Tasha called me when I was about halfway to the front to inform me that she was standing by the doors in a second line that was supposed to go in after everyone in the first line (where I was) was in, so I would have to go toward our priority items on my own.
When I got inside it was a zoo! I quickly headed back to the electronics section in search of our Big Win, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy boxed set on Blu-Ray. It was in their ad for $7.99, which was amazing since it is selling for $74.99 on Amazon. This was a gift for ourselves, and I was able to snatch the last copy off the shelves from in front of a guy that was procrastinating because the set was still labeled at $74.99.
We were able to find the rest of our deals in pretty short order, thankfully there was plenty to go around. We ended up at the checkout, and I asked the lady if they were going to honor the ad price. She said “let’s ring it up and see”. Beep. $7.99, you saved $67 off retail price! I found out later that this was a wild pricing error at Target, they had the individual movies on Blu-Ray for $7.99 apiece. I’m sure someone’s ass got reamed at corporate for that one.
Tasha and I made it out alive, got all of our deals, and saved a ton of money. I like Black Friday shopping, but maybe not enough to do it again for awhile. :) Now Tasha and I are headed to pick up baby furniture and play D&D. Hooray for vacation!
