Tonight’s workout involved a series of punching and blocking combinations, working primarily on moving in with a punch and then cutting to the 45 degree angle and blocking and following up with a front leg kick to complete the attack. The rest of the class consisted of kata, 8-10 minutes of your own kata followed by the complete set of Heian katas. After each kata we had to do callesthentics, first 10, then 20 then 30, then 20, then 10. I opted to work on stomach exercises since I need them, and the whole group closed with 10 pushups.
It was a good workout, and now it’s time for Rock Band!
