So Easter has come and gone which meants Lent is over. This year I gave up soda, which was VERY difficult for a couple weeks but then got much easier. On Easter Sunday, I had my first soda since March 8th and I hated it. It was bitter and unsatisfying. I went to lunch today with some coworkers and tried another Diet Coke. Again, same result.
Ultimately, I’m glad to have kicked my 6-8 can a day habit but I’m not 100% certain that replacing it with iced tea and Kool Aid full of real sugar is better. I do know I drink significantly less in volume in order to quench my thirst, which has to be better than drinking all of the chemical nonsense they put into diet soda these days. I’ll take that as a victory.
