Last night I went to a visitation for a more distant family member. Surprisingly, everyone there was handling it very well. People were laughing and making comments about how great of a guy Art was… even his wife was handling things extremely well.
My sister made a comment about how this seemed very much like American Dreams, but I haven’t seen that movie so I didn’t really know what it meant. She is loaning it to me soon, so maybe I will find out.
In somewhat related news, Roanoke is much further away than I remember it. I was correct in my assertion that we wouldn’t make it there before Karate started. As a matter of fact, we barely made it back to town before Karate ended.
We did get to round out the evening at Jimmy John’s, as is the trend on Tuesday and Thursday nights. We stopped into Krogers to pick up some Diet Coke since we were out and there was a table to register voters. Yesterday was the last day to register and if you have moved since you registered last you need to register again. So we took that opportunity thanks to the fine folks at WEEK-TV.
So you hear that, Mr. Bush? That was the sound of me canceling out one vote for you in this state. BAM!
