Saturday’s workout was more of the same batch of Nidan test basics with the noteable addition of three-way kick. This was murder to both of us until
Tonights workout was really interesting, mostly because Sensei Hartman surprised me by letting me take the first class. I ran them through the obligitory basics, and decided to throw in some squat kicks for texture. Then we moved into kibadachi, and I got inspired and followed that up with some side thrust kicking drills. This lead into some extortations on some of the drills that I have done in recent workouts, and led us to doing that three way kick drill after recommendation from Sensei Hartman. We topped it all off with some Sensei Yabe style kata.
The second class consisted of a load of basic technique, followed by kata in groups. It was a nice change to get to do some different combinations, but I found myself wanting to get back to the nidan test basics. I’m sure I will this coming Saturday. That’s all for now, it’s time for me to crash for the night.
