The plumber showed up around 8:20 am this morning to diagnose my toilet difficulty. The moment he removed the lid, I saw the problem. The small hose that connects the fill pipe to the rest of the tank had come apart and was basically spraying a 45 degree angle of water at the right side of my toilet. This was causing water to spill out everywhere.
When I had checked it last night, the tube was hanging down inside the tank so it wasn’t obvious to me then. It was literally three seconds of effort to reconnect it, the guy cut the tube down so it stayed more secure in the process.
He wasn’t going to charge me for that, however since I had him there I mentioned that the spigot that was supposed to turn water off to the toilet wasn’t working. He said he had the tools to replace it with him, so I had him do that. He said that the fitting has plain worn out, there wasn’t any more tightening that was going to affect water flow to the toilet. He installed a fresh one and we billed it to the home warranty.
I was sitting down at my desk around 9:30 am, so there wasn’t even that much time lost at the office. Good stuff.
