It was HELL getting up this morning, but after I was up I was strangely motivated. So motivated, in fact, that I exhausted the 25 beads on my new Sochin Rosary.
I got about 10 kata in, then
So I did 30 Sochin kata. On number 22, my legs started not responding to requests. Through the interpretation of some others, it has been decided that the last slow drawn punch should be controlled and stopping as the kick sets back on the ground. I was trying to do that, and my thigh muscle blinked out of existance for a moment causing me to completely lose my balance and fall out of that position.
But I got back up and knocked out the rest. Shortly after that, I was summoned to the stage to take part in some more relaxed Sandan style sparring. I had pretty good instincts on attacking today, but I found out the hard way that I am pushing my blocks instead of snapping them. Its taking me too long to settle down and actually counterattack, but that will come with more practice at this type of sparring.
I think everyone involved today blew it out… we were all collectively pretty amped and got a lot accomplished. I have caught up for the lack of Sochin on Wednesday and am now positioned to actually hit my goal of being caught up for January by the close of business next week. I will have to have another week like this, but it will be worth it to get caught up.
